Bicyclist Critical After Crash With Tractor Trailer In Maryland

A bicyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a tractor trailer in Montgomery County Friday, March 11, authorities said.

The male was riding a black and blue Haro bicycle when he struck the back of the trailer, causing him to fall and get struck by the trailer at the intersection of Frederick Road and Stringtown Road in Germantown just before 4:30 p.m., county police said.

Both were heading north on Frederick Road passing Stringtown Road. The driver of the tractor trailer remained on scene and was uninjured.

The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continues to investigate this collision. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
